What is Shoe widths?

In short

The fit widths a brand offers on its leading shoe, which decide how a pair sits across the midfoot.

Shoe widths are the width options a brand offers on its leading shoe, and they matter most to people whose feet are wide or narrow. A regular width is the standard, wide gives more room across the midfoot, and extra-wide is the roomiest of the three. Altra and Merrell cover regular and wide, Nike sells its leading shoe in extra wide, and Mizuno and PUMA list regular only. A wide fit can stop rubbing on long runs, but a narrow foot can still slide inside a roomy shoe, so try both where you can.
